Talamau Spectacular 02

6 Days / 5 Nights 

Day 1  :   Upon arrival by afternoon flight at Minangkabau International Airport of West Sumatra, you will be picked up by a Sumatra Equator representative and drive to Bumiminang Hotel. In the afternoon we will guide you on a sightseeing tour to the old side of Padang, the Muara harbor one of the oldest harbors in West Sumatra, Chinese temple and Padang beach. When we return to your hotel, you are free to do some exploring on your own or rest up for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2  :   After breakfast we depart to Pinaga village, on the way you will see the Palm Oil plantations, Beetle nut plantations, an export commodity of West Sumatra and the main ingredient of eastern candies, the “Kinali Equatorial” monument, lunch is served enroute. Upon arrival at Pinaga village, your group has the choice of spending the night at a simple home stay on the slope of the mountain or begin climbing for 2 hours to the first shelter “Bukit Harimau Campo”, for a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean and villager farms. At Bukit Harimau Campo, you have the choice of setting up your tent or sleeping in a simple hut.

Day 3  :   Your morning wake up call is the sounds of Gibbons and birds. After breakfast we will climb to Padang Siranjano, this is a location named where we will find several lakes and natural flowering parks. One of the lakes is a favorite of the wild animals as a drinking spot. On your journey up the rocky trail, you will pass through wild jungle, dense with fern trees, and pitcher plant flowers. Occasionally our tours are led by a mysterious “guide bird” that disappears when we reach the top of the mountain. When we arrive at Padang Siranjano, we set up our tents, have dinner, and stare at the beautiful starry sky.

Day 4  :   If you wake up early, you may be able to see deer and wild goats drinking from the lake. After breakfast we walk through the “natural flowering park” appropriately named because of the many varieties of flowers growing there. Then, a ½ hour climb to the highest for sunrise, when the weather is clear enough you can see mount Merapi and Singgalang from this part. Leave our campsite to return to later and afterwards we start our descent down to the bottom of the mountain to sleep a night at the shelter “Bukit Harimau Campo”.

Day 5  :   After breakfast, we continue down to Pinaga village and from there we continue on to Lubuk Landua village where we stop to visit The “Forbidden Fish”. These sacred fish are maintained in the Lubuk Landua river from generation to generation and are not allowed to be caught or eaten. Legend says, anyone taking or eating these special fish will become ill and even die. Later this afternoon, we drive back to Padang and check in to Bumiminang Hotel, once again, you are free to relax and enjoy.

Day 6  :   Breakfast, then our representative will transfer you back to Minangkabau International Airport for you onward journey. Tour end
